Gardner-White Furniture is one of the biggest furniture retailers in Michigan and does close to $100 million in sales every year.
They’re a huge force in the area. But, how is their service? What about their product selection and return policies?

is a top 100 furniture chain with just seven stores in and around the Detroit area. They’re focused on serving the Michigan customer and have done so for over 94 years.
What do they sell?
Gardner-White Furniture carries a wide range of furniture manufacturer’s products. These include well-known brands like Ashley, Douglas, Guildcraft, Davis International, Lifestyle Enterprise, Simmons Serta, and Tempur-Pedic.
Are they commissioned?
Sales people at Gardner White Furniture do work on commissions meaning you can expect a harder sell when you walk in the door.
However, thanks to those commissions, you can also expect a willingness to negotiate on price on the part of the sales people.
Do your furniture shopping at the end of the month (or even the quarter) to cash in on sales folks trying to meet quotas.
They’re more likely to offer you a deal if it means they can chalk up another sale or a little extra to add to their totals.
Deals and Pricing
Like any major furniture retailer, Gardner-White hosts massive clearance sales and frequent deals on financing.
They’re the type of furniture store that touts no money down and no interest for five years, and other financing deals designed to lure you into the store.
Sure, they offer these programs, but only to customers with incredible credit. However, unlike other furniture stores, Gardner-White’s credit program is well managed and actually offers reasonable interest rates.
Customer service at Gardner-White
Gardner-White has a very strong reputation in Michigan for offering great customer service. The brand is well-known and well-supported as a local vendor.
Residents in the area like supporting a local brand and Garnder-White appears to repay them with excellent service.
The company even has a section on their website about furniture care and how to care for particular pieces.
It’s clear they want to build a relationship with their customers, rather than focus on scoring one-off sales. The company also has a popular gift card program and free pickup and delivery.
Watch the return policies though, they will take anything back (provided it doesn’t show wear and tear), but they will not refund any shipping and handling costs if you had the product delivered or need to have the product delivered back to the store.
Those costs will be deducted off your Gardner-White furniture refund.
